Floor insulation
Have you noticed cold coming up from your crawl space? Then floor insulation is a good solution for you. Floor insulation improves comfort and the living/working climate. In addition, floor insulation is also recommended if you have underfloor heating. With underfloor heating, the mass of the floor is heated. If the floor is not insulated, the heat radiates into the crawl space, causing a significant part of the heat to be lost. When the floor is insulated, the heat will remain in the floor longer and radiate upwards.
You have a wooden floor:
The wooden floor is insulated in 2 steps. First, a foil is attached under the floor, then EPS beads are placed between the wooden beams. This form of insulation has a very high insulation value, namely: 3.95 m2K/w. The new construction standard is now legally set at a minimum insulation value of 3.7 m2K/w. After insulating, your wooden floor has reached its new construction value!
You have a concrete floor:
Insulating a concrete floor can be done in two ways, which way is best in your situation depends on the type of concrete floor you have. When the floor is flat at the bottom, it is often advisable to work with hard insulation boards. If you have a sandwich floor, it may be more advisable to use PUR insulation. With hard insulation boards, the final insulation value depends on the thickness of the insulation material. With PUR an insulation value of 3.6 m2K/w is achieved.
The costs for insulating the crawl space are relatively low. However, the price obviously depends on the accessibility of the crawl space and any obstacles in the crawl space. Would you like to know exactly what the costs are in your situation? Then request a tailor-made quote without obligation!
As an indicative price for using Neopixel HR++ beads, we use a m² price from €26 to €35. You can also apply for a subsidy for this through the ISDE subsidy (investment subsidy for sustainable energy and energy savings). The amount for 2024 has been set at €5.50 per m². When you combine soil insulation with another insulation measure, this amount is doubled to €6.00 per m². m².
Tip! Do you wish to take out a sustainability loan for insulation measures and do you have a collective income of less than €60,000 per year? Then we would like to refer you to the National Heat Fund ( www.warmtefonds.nl ), where you will receive an interest-free loan (provided you meet the conditions).
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I entitled to a subsidy for insulating my floor?
You are entitled to a subsidy for insulating your crawl space. The conditions and exact prices can be found on the website of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Specifically, you can claim the ISDE subsidy. NB! It may be advisable to combine 2 measures as the subsidy amounts will then double. For more information, we would like to refer you to the RVO website: https://www.rvo.nl/subsidies-inanciering/isde/woningbedrijven
